Upper Bann Constituency
With a reputation for getting things done Carla Lockhart is unrivalled in her dedication, determination and focus on delivery. A Lurgan Councillor for over nine years, Carla works full-time in the Lurgan DUP Advice Centre. She comes from a farming background and is a business graduate from the University of Ulster.
Currently, Carla is group leader on the ABC Council and President of the Northern Ireland Local Government Association. She is also a former Mayor of Craigavon. Delivering jobs for young people is a key priority for Carla, alongside improving post-19 provision and growing the Upper Bann economy. Since being elected Cllr Lockhart has secured investment, fought for improved leisure provision and ensured lower rates in the Borough.
As a Governor in Lurgan Junior High and Magheralin Primary, Carla is focused on education and has been campaigning for additional Nursery places in the area. Carla Lockhart is the first port of call for numerous community groups and is a member of the Royal British Legion. She is someone with strong Christian principles, a unionist by conviction and is, therefore, unequivocal in her support for Northern Ireland’s place in the Union.
