DUP North Antrim MP Ian Paisley has said it is the duty of any administration to defend its citizens against terrorism.
Spokesman on Culture Media & Sport, Communities & Local Government and Energy & Climate Change.
DUP North Antrim MP Ian Paisley said,
“For the USA to have knowledge about planned attacks on its citizens and to ignore those evil plans of Qasem Soleimani, would have been a failure to defend democracy. Self defence is the duty of any administration to its citizens.
It is accepted that Soleimani was the midwife for terror groups across the world. Such groups have been guilty of some heinous acts with notorious human rights abuses evidenced in the persecution of minorities.
The United Kingdom and its allies should stand with America to ensure those who want to rain terror on the world are defeated and sent an unmistakable message that the world will not be a spectator whilst evil is perpetrated.
Locally, Sinn Fein has sided with Jeremy Corbyn and Iran. Once again when it comes to terrorism, Sinn Fein is out of step with democracy. Their inclination towards terrorism again on display. Whilst condemning America’s President, Sinn Fein continue to depend on millions of dollars from fundraising in the States. It’s time the President Trump’s administration took careful note of SF support for America’s enemies.”
