DUP Deputy Leader Nigel Dodds raised the need for action on the length of Cancer waiting lists in the House of Commons.
DUP Deputy Leader, Leader of the DUP Parliamentary Party, Spokesman on Reform and Constitutional issues and Foreign Affairs
He said, “Cancer waiting times are totally unacceptable. People need access to treatment in a quick and efficient manner when given such a diagnosis. To have such news is deeply worrying, which is exacerbated by the waiting times for treatment.
Targets are being missed as a result of long delays. In the final weeks of the Prime Minister’s tenure it is an issue which must be prioritised. Waiting lists must be brought under control.
It is not acceptable that the Government idly sits on its hands, in the absence of a Health Minister in Northern Ireland, with patients suffering as a result. The entire community is united in calling for the Government to take action.”
