Following confirmation that the European election will go ahead, the DUP Northern Ireland MEP and European election candidate Diane Dodds said,
Member of the EU Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, Substitute member of the EU Fisheries Committee
“The people who want the 2016 referendum result respected must use this election to ‘tell them again’. I will be asking people to vote DUP and then for other unionists who want to see the referendum result implemented. We need to use this poll to send a message to London and Brussels.
The United Kingdom does not need a second referendum or a ‘peoples vote’. We need the will of the people implemented as expressed in June 2016.
I have a track record as an MEP for standing up for Northern Ireland. I will be standing on that record of delivery and on a clear platform that the referendum must be respected.”
