Speaking on the tragedy Carla Lockhart MLA said, “In the days ahead the entire community will be remembering the family of this young man, who was so tragically killed on our roads this morning.  A family today is mourning as a result of this devastating accident.

I want to thank our emergency services for their assistance at this accident.  Often they are the first people to deal with these horrific incidents.  I would encourage anyone who has any information to come forward to the PSNI and report it on the non emergency 101 helpline.

This weekend has been one marked with tragedy with the death locally of Mr Philip Capper, Mr William Dunlop and now this young man.  It demonstrates the fragility of life.  Unfortunately these homes will never be the same again but it is our prayer that God will sustain them in the days ahead.”
