Upper Bann MLA Jonathan Buckley has expressed his sympathy to the family of Philip Capper who died as a result of a road traffic incident last night.

He was travelling as a passenger in a tractor on the Back Road, Drumbo.

Knowing Philip personally, he commented, “I’ve known Philip from I was roughly 6 years of age. I used to work with him on his family farm. I was devastated to receive the phonecall last night that he sadly passed away as a result of road traffic collision. Nothing can ever prepare you for that phonecall.

My thoughts are with his immediate and wider family circle who just 8 months ago lost Philip’s young cousin, Ross Capper in a road accident in Portadown.

Philip Capper was a genuine much loved character. His sudden and sad passing has sent shock waves throughout Northern Ireland’s farming community and beyond. I want to place on record my deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to all of Philip’s family and friends in the days ahead.”
